A guidebook is your local knowledge in a form guests can use when you are not there. Start small, make it practical, and improve it from real questions.
Think in moments, not chapters
Arrival, settling in, exploring, and departure are the four useful moments. Group details around those moments instead of writing a long document guests must search.
Give recommendations a reason
“Best coffee” is vague. “Our favorite early-morning coffee stop, with outdoor seating and a short walk to the beach” helps a guest decide.
- Choose three to five places you know.
- Say who each place suits and when to go.
- Use direct Google Maps links.
- Avoid promising opening hours you have not verified.
A repeatable maintenance routine
Before each season, test the QR, copy the Wi-Fi password, review arrival instructions, and check map destinations. Update the guide after any repeat guest question.
